Should I Go To The Emergency Room After A Car Accident in Atlanta?

Getting into a car accident in Atlanta is often a traumatizing, frightening experience.

Whether it was a fender bender or a 10-care pile-up, recovering from a car accident can sometimes feel like an impossible task.

Even if you are lucky enough to feel okay right after the accident, it could be due to an adrenaline rush masking your symptoms.

That's why everyone needs to seek medical attention after a car accident, no matter how they feel.

An Atlanta car accident chiropractor is excellent at treating accident injuries.

But, should everyone go to the emergency room after a car accident no matter what, or are there other options?

In the article below, we will discuss your options when seeking medical care after a car accident in Atlanta.

When You Should Go To The ER After A Car Accident

If you have an obvious severe, possibly life-threatening injury after your accident, you need to go straight to the E.R., no questions asked.

Severe burns, major broken bones, severe trauma, uncontrollable bleeding, breathing difficulties, and other serious injuries need to be treated as soon as possible by emergency medical professionals.

Car accident injuries that aren't as severe but still need treatment can be treated by another doctor, like a chiropractor.

If you have sustained any injuries at all, you shouldn't skip seeing the doctor.

First of all, you need to take care of your physical health, but seeing a chiropractor will document your injuries, which is very useful if you need to file a personal injury claim.

Visit A Chiropractor If Your Injuries Aren't Emergencies

If you don't need emergency medical attention, skip the emergency room and visit a car accident chiropractor instead.

Chiropractors are specially trained to treat the spine and musculoskeletal system, which are often affected during car accidents.

Your car accident chiropractor in Atlanta can evaluate and diagnose any accident injuries, like whiplash, and start treatments right away.

That means you begin healing right away without worrying about referrals or any delays in your healing process.

When you're sick and have something like a cold or the flu, you visit your doctor to get it taken care of.

When you've been in a car accident, you should see a chiropractor to get your injuries taken care of.

Car accident chiropractors can treat injuries sustained in car accidents and the trauma that comes from them.

During your physical exam, they will also check if you have any underlying medical issues and provide you with relief that doesn't involve harmful pain medication or invasive surgeries.
