How Soon After A Car Accident Should You See A Chiropractor in Midtown Atlanta?

If you've been involved in a car accident in Midtown Atlanta, there are several things you should do right away.

One of the most important things to do after your accident is to seek immediate medical care.

Here's what type of doctor you should see after a car accident in Midtown Atlanta.

Even if you do not think you were seriously hurt it's still important to get checked out because some injuries are not apparent until hours or even days after the accident.

Whiplash, a widespread injury after a car accident can take days or weeks to present symptoms.

A Midtown Atlanta Car Accident Chiropractor focuses on injuries that someone who has been involved in an auto accident may have sustained.

Your primary doctor may be able to treat minor injuries you've suffered from a car crash, but you should really see a chiropractor to determine the full extent of the damage.

Chiropractors will treat the source of your injury, while your primary doctor might prescribe painkillers to mask your pain.

Now that you know you should see a chiropractor, how soon should you see a chiropractor after your accident?

Visit Your Chiropractor as Soon as You Can

It's important to see a chiropractor as soon as you can after a car accident.

There are a few good reasons you should do this.

First, it's essential to start treating any injuries as soon as you can.

If you wait to see a chiropractor, your injuries can get worse, and you may need more extensive treatments to make a full recovery.

Like whiplash we mentioned earlier, many common car accident injuries may not present symptoms immediately after the car crash.

Some car accident injuries are very treatable if caught early on, but the longer you wait to receive treatment, the harder it could be for you to heal fully.

In some cases, surgery may end up being your only option because your body didn’t heal correctly.

It would help if you also saw a chiropractor as soon as possible for financial reasons.

Your injuries should be documented and linked to the accident, especially if the accident is caused by someone else and you’re going to sue for damages.

The longer you wait to document your injuries, the easier it will be for the insurance companies to dispute your claim and argue your injuries weren't serious or the result of the accident.

Some minor injuries might heal on their own, so if you wait too long, the accident won’t seem as bad as it actually was.

Laws will vary from state to state.

Some states require you to have your injuries documented by a medical professional within as little as 14 days.

If you fail to do so, you might lose your ability to claim certain insurance benefits or win a court case.

Dr. James Toney

Dr. Toney is Arrowhead Clinic’s Midtown Atlanta Chiropractor who specializes in helping accident victims and patients who suffer from chronic pain conditions, such as chronic back and neck pain. Dr. Toney didn't grow up wanting to become a chiropractor. After a financial hardship hit his family before starting his freshman year of college, Dr. Toney turned to exercise as an outlet. He would run three to five miles three to four times a week to cleanse his mind and body of all the afflictions he was experiencing. When he found out his college tuition fees included the benefit of the Recreational Activity Center, he decided to put the opportunity to good use. The rest is history. Dr. Toney soon discovered his love for weightlifting and started to see results immediately. Gaining 20 lbs of muscle the first three months of lifting fueled his development into becoming a bodybuilder. Through bodybuilding, Dr. Toney was able to improve his appearance while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. After 18 months of bodybuilding, Dr. Toney suffered every athlete's worst nightmare, an injury. This wasn't just any injury, but a back injury, due to improper form on a cable machine workout. At the time, Dr. Toney had no health insurance and couldn't afford to see a medical doctor. He did some research and stumbled upon chiropractic treatment. During his first exam, Dr. Toney was given an X-ray and an adjustment. He was back in the gym in less than a week. That's when he discovered his newly found love for Chiropractic. Dr. Toney graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BA in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Business Management. He then finished up his education at Life University, where he received a Masters in Exercise Science/Sports Chiropractic with an emphasis in Sports Injury, and a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. One of Dr. Toney’s accident patients recently left a review stating, “I was involved in an accident and was referred to Arrowhead Clinic by a friend. Upon walking in the clinic, I was greeted with a smile and superior professionalism. Dr. Toney was thorough, making my recovery extremely successful. If you are looking for a chiropractic clinic, call to schedule your appointment.” Dr. Toney provides all potential patients with a free, same-day consultation. He takes the time to listen, discuss, diagnose, and treat a person’s injury or condition all during the same appointment. Dr. Toney is available for appointments Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. "You never know where life is going to take you, so enjoy the journey." -Dr. James E.
